Meet the Howard’s Pawn and Jewelry Team
As a family-owned business in Macon, GA, Howard’s Pawn and Jewelry has been taking care of its customers since
2001. Howard Reed was born and bred in Macon and is committed to the community he calls home. He got his start
working in the pawn business after shifting gears from bonds nearly 40 years ago.
Howard Reed — Owner
Howard Reed (owner) was born in Macon and worked in the pawn business for twenty years before opening Howard’s Pawn and Jewelry in 2001. He has four children and two grandchildren so far. Most days find Howard behind the pawn counter making friendly loans and enjoying his customers. Howard loves spending time with family, working in his church, golf and fishing. Howard is also one of Georgia’s foremost experts on coins, sports memorabilia and military collectibles.
Nathan Reed — Store Manager
Nathan Reed is our store manager. As Howard’s son, he has been a part of the business since day one in 2001. Besides his degree in Entrepreneurship from Auburn University, he holds a Graduate Diamond Certificate from GIA. Nathan is our resident watch expert and also buys gun collections for our store as well. Born in Macon, he married a Macon girl and they have two boys. Nathan loves time with his family, golf and watching Auburn football.
Debi Reed (aka Miss Howard)
Debi Reed (aka Miss Howard) works with our jewelry customers to find just that special piece whether they are searching for an engagement ring, a special gift or buying something they love for themselves. Debi has been selling jewelry and growing that inventory since she and Howard opened up back in 2001. She enjoys spending time with family and friends as well as antiquing and traveling with Howard.
Matt Darley — Firearms Manager
Matt Darley is our Firearms Manager. As our primary weapons buyer, Matt is responsible for the huge inventory you are able to shop when you visit Howard’s. Matt can evaluate individual weapons for trade or entire collections for purchase. Matt also can help you with Class III purchases. He has been on the staff with Howard for over a decade and stays up with what’s new in the gun market so we can offer the fantastic selection of firearms, accessories, safes, etc. at Howard’s. Matt was raised here in Macon and enjoys fishing hunting, cooking and gardening in his spare time.
TJ Lane — E‑Commerce Specialist
TJ Lane is our e‑commerce specialist. TJ produces and manages our Gunbroker and Ebay listings. He is also our resident electronics and musical instrument and equipment expert. While most of his time is spent with e‑commerce customers, TJ can be seen assisting customers all over the store as needed. TJ is originally from Macon, enjoys music and spending time with his beautiful daughter, Adelynn.
James Putnal — Gun Salesman
James Putnal is a gun salesman for Howard’s. He has been with us for over five years and is great at using his vast knowledge of weapons to help you pick out just the right one. James loves hunting, fishing and spending time with his family.
Lucas Schroeder
Lucas Schroeder works with our e‑commerce — both Gunbroker and ebay — as well as selling guns in our store. He was born in Houston, TX and enjoys reading and watching football.
Matt Warren
Matt Warren sells guns here at Howard’s. With years of experience with firearms, Matt has learned a lot about guns that enables him to help you with your selection. Matt has three children and was born here in Macon, GA. His hobbies include — you guessed it — shooting and watching movies — probably movies with guns in them.
